What is a Republic?
A Republic is a group of people with equality through its members. It is also a state which supreme power is held by the people and their representatives. They have an elected president rather than a monarch.
Differences between Republic and Democracy-
Republic

Cannot take away certain inalienable rights.

Government is held by people as individuals.
Democracy

Can give minority rights.

Government is held by the entire population as a whole.
Similarities between a Republic and Democracy-

They both have the same duties and the same basic roles.

Election of officals to lead the government through majority rules.

Both use sentational system, where citizens elect reprerepresentatives to show their interests and form the governement.

Who was apart of the Roman Republic?-
The Roman Republic consists of citizens and their elected officials. It had three branches of government, often called a tripartite government. They had the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches. The Legislative branch had the Senate. The jobs of the Senate were mostly taken up by patricians.
When did Rome establish their government?-
Rome established their government in 509 B.C. but they like to date their history to 753 B.C. That's when Romulus is said to of founded Rome.
What are the advantages to a Republic?-

The advantages to a republic are that they recognize the rights of individuals in the law rather than just the majority. Another advantage is that the power of the Executive branch is restrained. The last advantage to a Republic is the head(s) of states are elected by the people and are not a from a monarchy.
