Consuls

Consuls were the presidents of Ancient Rome. There were two consuls who lead the executive branch. They commanded the army and directed the government. Consuls served for one year and they had the power to veto or overrule, the other. In a time of absolute crisis, the consuls could choose a dictator to rule in their place for a limited time.

Terms-


The consuls who lead the executive branch served in one-year terms. Each consul only had one year to lead the Roman Republic.

Jobs-

The consuls had many jobs as the cheifs of the executive branch. The consuls got to choose who were the senators and evevn could act as judges. Some other jobs the consuls had were directing the army, choose a dictator to make quick desions, or the power to veto the other.
